A full day at a Vivace Workshop begins at 8:00 AM and concludes around 9:00 PM. Breaks are taken for lunch and dinner. No, each student must provide their own linens and bedding. Extra-long twin sheets are the typical size for a university dormitory bed.

What else do I need to bring?
Each participant is expected to bring equipment for his/her respective sessions. We do NOT supply any equipment (instruments, lyres, rifles, flags, sabers, percussion, sticks, tape, maces, etc.) Pit percussion instruments are provided. All participants are advised to bring a notebook and writing implement to all sessions.

No. We strongly recommend that you bring a fan.

No.

Is there "free time" available to the students for recreational activities?
Yes, but it is minimal. This is an academic/educational workshop, therefore the majority of the student’s time is spent in session.

How much money should my student have with them?
Most dormitories have vending machines. While resident students do receive 3 meals each day, many may wish to have a snack or drink during the day. Workshop souvenirs will also available. Ultimately we leave this decision to the parent.

How many students are in a dorm room?
ONLY 2 students per dorm room at all workshop locations.

Can I choose my roommate?
Yes, but all roommate requests must be made AT LEAST one week prior to check-in. Requests will only be considered if BOTH people request each other. Roommate requests are NOT guaranteed, although every effort is made to honor requests.
